Should You Consider Moving From a House To a Condo?

Being a homeowner is great. Just think about it: you get a place to call your very own. You can paint the walls whatever colour you like and of course, there is that big backyard to enjoy. However, owning a home includes a lot of responsibility as well. It is up to you to re-paint the living room, mow that big backyard, pay the bills on time, and keep up with regular maintenance...to name just a few things. Are you tired of all the upkeep? Do you hate spending your winter shovelling piles of snow off your driveway? Then it may be time to make a change - and move from a house to a condo.

Condominiums have become increasingly popular for a number of reasons. One of those reasons? They allow you to own property without having to worry about the upkeep that typically goes along with it. Many homeowners want to have their own space, but quickly become tired of dealing with the general maintenance required to keep the home looking good. That is where condos shine! They allow you to own your own space without having to deal with everything else that is normally involved. Think an apartment might be a better option? Unfortunately, apartments are usually available to rent, not buy. That causes people to fall into a renters trap. Condos on the other hand are available to purchase.... meaning you still get a place to call your very own, without having to worry about all of the details.

While owning your own property is undoubtedly an asset, perhaps the most appealing part of condo living is being maintenance free. How many hours have you been outside shovelling snow this winter? The whole time, your back aches and you keep thinking about all the other things you have to get done. Well, when you live in a condo, you don't have to deal with any of that. There is no more snow shovelling! This is because your monthly condo fee covers any and all maintenance you may require. That includes things like repairs and yes, even snow removal.

So, should you consider moving from a home to a condo? If you're on the fence, consider some of the benefits associated with living in a condominium. It's not just owning your own property and skipping over maintenance. You can also enjoy certain amenities, (like a swimming pool, gym, and recreation room, depending on the condo itself), live right in the heart of downtown Toronto (talk about making your morning commute easier!), enjoy increased security (with doormen and secure entrances, it is more difficult for non-residents to get inside), and enjoy that luxurious condo lifestyle. More and more homeowners are trading up. Now, it's your turn.

Fed up with shovelling the driveway day after day? A condo may be the right choice for you. Just think - you won't have to deal with that time-consuming maintenance anymore! If it's time for a change, consider condo living. It will make your life a whole lot easier.
